AST Research to Spin Off New Company
for Service Operations in Fort Worth

FORT WORTH - October 31, 2000 - AST Research, Inc. announced today that it has spun off their existing Service Operations to form a new company. Plans to launch the new enterprise under the name InteliSol, Inc. were finalized in the spring of 2000.

The new company will be headed by Jin. H. Suh, a former executive with Samsung Electronics and ARI Service, which was formed as the service arm of AST. InteliSol, Inc. will continue to provide service under contract for AST Research and will also expand their client base to include partnerships with other technology OEM's as an outsourcing provider for repair services and technical support.

The Company also provides a similar support structure for the electronics giant Samsung, featuring the Samsung SensPro 500 Series notebooks sold in the USA and Canada. InteliSol also provides sophisticated repair services for mobile and communications products.
